  7. The General Simulation System (GSS) represents the most significant advance in
  8. the development of discrete event modeling and simulation tools for many
  9. years.  Developed by prediction Systems, GSS is a total user-friendly
  10. interactive environment that supports Model Development, Scenario Development,
  11. Simulation and Analysis.  In an easy menu-driven mode, GSS users can quickly
  12. build models, run simulations and analyze results.  GSS features a unique
  13. separation of the overall modeling and simulation environment into five
  14. distinct segments.  These are the following:  Architecture Environment- Used
  15. to create and maintain hierarchical model architectures based upon graphic
  16. symbology and menu driven information about each model structure.  Language
  17. and a Simulation Control Specification language to specify complete
  18. simulations, including database interfaces.  Run Time Environment- Contains
  19. discrete event simulation operating system, allowing the user to interact
  20. graphically while the simulation is running, and interface with real-time
  21. devices.  Support Environment- The user can create scenario files, analyze
